He Cares About the Little Things

"And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear." Isaiah 65:24

How can faith grow if it is never tested?

Today I had a little experience with God that means the world to me. I somehow managed to lose my phone this morning. I knew I had it on our way to church, but did not know if I had it once we got to church(we stopped on the way to pick somebody up, and I got out of the car.) Anyway, I searched the car, searched the church, but there was no trace of my phone. Well, by then I started to get a bit worried. I prayed and kept looking, but to no avail. All through the church service I kept thinking about my phone, but every time I wanted to worry I seemed to hear a still small voice telling me that everything was in the Master's hands, and that He would take care of me.
After the church service, I kept asking around, and finally after potluck I had the chance to mention to the lady we picked up that I had lost my phone. She immediately called her son and told him to go outside to check if I had dropped the phone in their driveway. In the meantime I proceeded to search the church one last time. A very dear church member asked if I would like to pray, and of course I said yes. Well, less than a minute after we prayed, that lady that had ridden to church with us got a phone call from her son saying that he had found the phone!

Oh what a compassionate Father we serve. If He cares enough to answer such a little prayer, how much more will He answer weightier requests. If He cares enough to preserve a little phone for a whole morning, how much more will He care about the more important things. Our prayers don't fall on deaf ears. We serve a living God! He may not always answer the way He did today, but He will definitely answer.

My heart is humbled, and I realize once again just how weak my faith is, and just how quick I am to doubt. Today however has once again given me a glimpse of who my Father really is. A dependable, and loving Master and Friend.

Praise be to Him!
