My Earnest Prayer

Break my heart for what breaks Yours Lord,
Soften this heart of stone.
Strip me of selfishness and pride Lord,
Cause I can't overcome alone.
Oh let me feel the pain You feel,
may I through Your eyes see.
May I never forget the price You paid 
So that sinners may be free.
Help me not to forget why I am here,
Help me live for You each day,
And may others see Your selfless love,
In all I do and say.
Break my heart for what breaks Yours Lord,
Help me for you my Lord to live,
And may I share Your wonderous love,
Yes, may I live ever to give.

Great Things

Let's be honest. I don't think there is anybody that does not desire to accomplish great things. A lot of us want to impact the world in mighty ways; yes we want to bring about change that is noticeable. There is nothing wrong with wanting to do great things, but I do believe that we don't fully understand what is "great" in God's eyes. Working at the nursing home has taught me that some of the greatest things in life are little things in the world's eyes. The world does not consider holding a dejected man's hand, or looking at a picture book with a 95 year old woman as "great" things, but I can assure you that it means a great deal to the individual. A cheerful smile, an extra measure of patience, and the willingness to serve regardless of gain are great things my friend. May The Year 2016 Be Different

A new year has begun Lord, and I want this year to be the best one I have had yet. I am not asking for earthly wealth, and am not seeking ease, but Lord I pray that this year will be different. May this year be the year that I draw closer to You than I have ever before. May this be the year where I learn to trust You with every aspect of my life. May this year be the year where I reach more souls, and touch more lives.  Lord, I have learned from personal experience that I can do NOTHING in my own strength. True Peace
