Hide it in my Heart

Tonight while exercising I went over all the chapters of scripture I have memorized this past year. There is something very powerful about memorizing scripture. Jesus quoted scripture when tempted by Satan, and oh how much more do I need to hide God's precious promises in my heart.

Here are my favorite verses from these precious chapters. ( I really wish I would have memorized more...)

"For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal."   -2. Cor 4:17-18

"For as the heavens are high above the earth,
So great is His mercy toward those who fear Him;
12 As far as the east is from the west,
So far has He removed our transgressions from us."  -Psalm 103:11-12

"Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad;
Let the sea roar, and all its fullness;
12 Let the field be joyful, and all that is in it.
Then all the trees of the woods will rejoice before the Lord.
13 For He is coming, for He is coming to judge the earth.
He shall judge the world with righteousness,
And the peoples with His truth."   - Psalm 96:11-13

"Because Your lovingkindness is better than life,
My lips shall praise You.
Thus I will bless You while I live;
I will lift up my hands in Your name."  -Psalm 63:3-4

"The Lord is my light and my salvation;
Whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the strength of my life;
Of whom shall I be afraid?"   - Psalm 27:1

"Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness,
And for His wonderful works to the children of men!
For He satisfies the longing soul,
And fills the hungry soul with goodness."   -Psalm 107:8-9

May we hide God's words in our hearts, and may it truly become a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path.
