Oh Give Thanks to the Lord!

"Oh, that men would give thanks to the LORD for His goodness,
And for His wonderful works to the children of men! "
                                                                                    Psalm 107

I am in the process of memorizing Psalm 107, and the above phrase is the theme of the entire psalm.
What does it mean to give thanks to the Lord? Do we take the time to thank our Heavenly Father for all the many blessings that He bestows upon us every single day? If it were not for His tender care we would not be here today. It is He who sends the rain and causes the sun to shine. It is He who provides for our daily needs. Too often I find myself  complaining about things that don't go the way I wish they would, instead of praising God for all the things He so faithfully provides. 
Has He ever let me down? Not once! Rather He has led me in ways more beautiful than I could have ever imagined. Too often when confronted with trials I forget to view them as opportunities for character development. What do my trials and troubles amount to in light of eternity? Not very much.
In this new year may we learn the meaning of praising God. We have so much to be thankful for.
I firmly believe that the more we praise Him, the more joy will fill our souls , and we will see His goodness as we have never seen before.

God is good!

Great Things

Let's be honest. I don't think there is anybody that does not desire to accomplish great things. A lot of us want to impact the world in mighty ways; yes we want to bring about change that is noticeable. There is nothing wrong with wanting to do great things, but I do believe that we don't fully understand what is "great" in God's eyes. May The Year 2016 Be Different

A new year has begun Lord, and I want this year to be the best one I have had yet. I am not asking for earthly wealth, and am not seeking ease, but Lord I pray that this year will be different. May this year be the year that I draw closer to You than I have ever before. May this be the year where I learn to trust You with every aspect of my life. True Peace

"It is the love of self that destroys our peace.
